Calling all coaches......
The season is quickly approaching, and we want to make sure that you are ready to hop on the ice with your players on day one. Below are the requirements for the season as a reminder of what needs to happen.
Before stepping on the ice or being rostered with your team, you must...
-Register as a member of USA Hockey (cost is $46 plus affiliate fees if applicable). Click here for more information
-Complete a background screening. Click here to complete
-Complete the USA Hockey Safe Sport Training. Click here to complete
-Become certified in the age group that you coach by taking an Age-specific Module ($20 per module). If you are currently certified in your age group, then you may skip this step. If you are not, click here to learn more about what you need to take.
Coaching Education Clinic Deadlines
-Register and complete a Coaching Education Clinic. Click here to register
-Check with your local program for district or state deadlines
Follow the rules below to find what Coaching Education Clinic you must take.
-If you are a new coach to USA Hockey, you will need to start by completing your level 1, no matter what age category you are coaching
-If you have a level 1 and are coaching 8U, then you are not required to take your level 2
-If you have a level 1 and are coaching any age category older than 8U, you must take your level 2.
-If you are coaching any age category older than 8U, you must complete the next clinic level in consecutive years
Once you have obtained level 4 certification, you will be in the Continuing Education Cycle. For more information on Continuing Education opportunities and requirements, click here
